From up close, the image seems even odder. The effect is almost exactly as if you were looking at a far-off building through the hole in the stone. The building seems to be some kind of an oriental temple. You can feel a slight breeze coming through the hole. The air smells exotic and strange, and it seems a bit cooler than the air around you. A quick check of the back side of the sculpture reveals only rounded stone, with no corresponding exit hole at all. Curious, you reach your hand inside, and manage to extend your entire arm up to the shoulder through the stone without encountering any resistance. Judging by what you can feel on the other side, there seems to be a sculpture exactly like this one at the other end of the hole. Weird. Of course, eventually you are done looking at the hole... |
