...and all is suddenly quiet and serene. When you finally dare to open your eyes again, you can see neither sky nor clouds. In fact, you can no longer even see the study that you were standing in. You now seem to be in a different room entirely. This room has clearly been designed to be reconfigurable. You can see various vertical sliding partitions, arranged so that larger areas can be divided up in a variety of ways. The yellowish tatami mats on the floor can also probably be moved as necessary to allow this. The walls around you seem to be made primarily of paper, which is thin enough to let light into the room from outside. The floor beneath you is hardwood, which is mostly covered by the tatami mats. The silence here is a bit eerie. The total lack of furniture leads you to doubt that anyone could be actively living here. There is no sign of the paper box. To the north, you can see the entrance to a dark room. To the east, you can see a small set of adjoining rooms. To the south, you can see an open doorway apparently leading outside. Or, you could look up to see what's overhead. |
