Moments after you have entered the flitter and strapped yourself into the seatbelt, the flitter's autopilot engages. You have absolutely no warning and no time to prepare yourself as the tiny aircraft immediately lifts off the ground and begins to rapidly accelerate. For a few seconds, you are crushed back into your seat with so much force that you literally cannot breathe. Eventually, the flitter apparently attains its cruising speed, and the acceleration slowly stops. Through the windshield, you can see bright blue sky and various cloud formations, which are moving so rapidly towards you that you can't make out any details. As the clouds streak past you, you momentarily catch a glimpse of a brightly colored object above you in the sky to your left. Almost as soon as you notice it, you have already left it far behind. After a few minutes of rapid travel, the flitter suddenly starts to decelerate. This time, your seatbelt is all that prevents your body from launching itself through the windshield. Again, for several seconds, you can't breathe. You feel a stomach-churning wrench as the flitter starts dropping through the cloudbank towards whatever is below you... |
